Hi, I know you're probably used to people telling you this by now, but I wanted to let you know that you are an inspiration to me. I started reading your journal last summer, almost a year ago now, and I became hooked because it sounded like your musings, your worries and insecurities were speaking directly to me. You really showed me that all it takes to get going is the right mindset. Anyway, I promised myself that I'd try to be as strong as you have been, and that I would try to become a healthier person (I'm 20 years old now, and I've been overweight for as long as I can remember). Since then I've lost 60 pounds, and am still on my way to lose more. In any case, what I wanted to thank you for most was making me realize that becoming a healthier person is a decision you make for life, for the long term - It can't be something that only sticks for a few days, weeks, or months. I hadn't kept up with your journal in recent months, but coming back and seeing that despite it all (or perhaps because of it all) you've stuck with running and a healthier lifestyle - that's what's given me the most hope. I just wanted to thank you so much for giving me that hope - a year ago and now.

Congratulations!!!! I am a twin myself, and my brother and I both run. My memories of childhood are of us playing together in the garden, looking after one another, climbing trees and playfighting. Our parents taught us the mantra 'half-each' to the point where we'd split and share even identical objects.

His opinion means more to me than the opinion of anyone else in the world.

My mum says that Twins are a very efficient way of having babies, and although at the start they may feel like twice the work, they start looking after one another pretty quickly!

Both of your children will always have a playmate and a friend they can trust, from the very first moments of their lives. For me, that has been priceless. I wish you and your family every good thing.
